Trusting God Through Physical Ailments

Did you know that Satan used physical ailments as a weapon to try to turn Job against God?

Job had a goal to be a blameless, upright man, who feared God and shunned evil.

THE VERY THING THAT JOB DESIRED FOR HIMSELF AND HIS CHILDREN (staying true to God) WAS THE VERY THING THAT SATAN SOUGHT TO DEFEAT IN HIM, AND SATAN USED A PHYSICAL AILMENT AS A WEAPON.

Satan wasn’t satisfied that Job was grieving over losing his farm, hired help and all of his children, he wanted Job to CURSE GOD.

Satan approached God a second time in the courtroom of heaven. Satan said “SKIN FOR SKIN! Job will be able to stand for God if you take his things and people around him, but if you take his own body, well now that’s different. If you let me take Job’s body, than he will curse you!”

Once again, God gave permission for Satan to bring loss to Job. He was allowed to inflict him, but not kill him. Satan brought boils on Job from his head to his feet.

Job’s boils were so painful and itched so bad that he took broken pieces of pottery to scratch them.

Job’s wife saw how miserable he was. She said, “Now, do you still want to remain a righteous man? Why don’t you curse God and die?”

How does our view of God change when we are physically ill? Do we trust that God has a bigger plan?

Know that God will not put more on us than we can bear. God knew that Job would be able to stand against Satan in victory for the Kingdom of God against the Kingdom of Evil.
