The scribes, those who wrote the law or doctrine for the church and often taught, did not have authority because they wrote and taught the doctrine of MEN. The AUTHORITY of Christ astonished them! Those who are in the Truth and the Truth is in them (JESUS) have AUTHORITY over evil. Rise up true body of Christ!

Behold, I give unto you power [AUTHORITY] to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.  Luke 10:19
